As you can see from the image at the top of this post, that tweet received more than 1,000 RTs and more than 100 people hit “favorite” after reading it. Forty-eight hours after I sent it, I continue to receive RTs and comments about it. I also got hundreds of new followers as a result (I usually get 20 or so new followers a day, that day and next: 100 each; today, I’m back to 18):
Loved reading Sree Sreenivasan’s “Four lessons from a single successful tweet”. Though Sree was able to deduce a lot of meaning and reward from his words getting shared wildly, it’s notable just how many different tools and techniques he had to cobble together. And he’s a former journalism professor, who’s an expert at this sort of thing! One of the broader challenges we’re looking at with ThinkUp is how we can integrate all of these kinds of insights into one place, so that you’re not having to figure out “what did I do that made this one message take off?” or “Who were the people that really helped spread the word about what I wrote?”
